My Project

Middle schoolers need snacks for learning due to several physiological and psychological reasons that are inherent to their developmental stage. Here are some key reasons why providing snacks is crucial for supporting their learning: energy requirements, blood sugar regulation, improved concentration and cognitive function, enhanced mood and well-being, encourages healthy eating habits, promotes socialization, addresses growth spurts.

My students come from diverse backgrounds in our urban setting in Seattle, they really appreciate when I have snacks for them when they are hungry and have trouble focusing on the science that I am teaching.

Providing snacks for middle schoolers is not just about satisfying hunger; it is a strategic and essential component of creating an optimal learning environment. By addressing their unique physiological and psychological needs, snacks contribute to improved focus, sustained energy, and overall well-being, laying the foundation for successful learning experiences during this critical stage of development.
