Students at our school often come to the counseling office to grab a snack when they are feeling hungry or dysregulated. Snacks are an essential part of keeping kids calm, focused, fed, and regulated so they can do a lot of important work and learning during their school day.
Many students in our community come from low-income families and don't always get to eat three meals every day.
Providing snacks for these students is extremely important to their wellbeing and ability to manage the many demands of each school day.
