This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year, I have a homeroom filled with students ready and eager to learn. I have a great bunch of fifth grade students that are ready to go.
My focus is getting everyone organized and ready to learn every day when they walk into my classroom.
We have some challenges with supplies because of economic status, but we are going to forge on anyhow. We are Title I but we aren't out of the game. With hard work and determination, we are going to be successful this year.
My Project
It is proven that eating a healthy snack helps improves learning. My student's idea to help with this issue is to provide them with a snack after specials and before lunch. The students are saying that this snack will help the brain stay on task since fatigue affects your thinking and the ability to retain information. Adding these snacks into my classroom routine will get the students energized and pumped up about their education which will in turn enhance performance.
After all, healthy kids make better learners!
Snacks will help improve my student's attention span and their ability to retain the information presented. Most importantly, students will begin to see that the classroom is a safe and fun place to be. This will also increase attendance rates and performance. What a great benefit for these students! They are so right!
