This is my fifth year as the STEM teacher at our school for all students from K-5th grade.
All of our students can receive free meals in the cafeteria this year.
These children are at many different intellectual and ability levels ranging from gifted to special needs. Some of our students are classified as homeless, some have language challenges due to being ELL, and some children are in foster placement. We have many military families, since our school is less than a mile from a military base. I want to make sure that all of our students are given positive experiences and opportunities in my STEM classroom that will help them realize their potential and prepare them for the future they deserve.
Sometimes, just the smallest thing can make a bad day turn into a good day and put a smile on a child's face. I also know that some of these children are truly hungry when they come to my class. The older students loved the Takis we received in the past. I would like to get a supply of these individual bags along with Fritos corn chips, Doritos, and Pop-Tarts baked pastry bites to give to my older students. I am requesting Starburst Original Fruit Chews that can be given to younger students to let them know that I notice when they are trying to do the right thing.
