Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students from nations all over the world immigrate to our city with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of Hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language, Spanish. Many of our students, both native and nonnative, struggle to meet basic classroom needs each day. This means that it is extra important for us to make sure they have a classroom filled with both essential items that they can access at any time, and exciting project opportunities. Their social/emotional well-being depends on knowing that they are able to have snacks and water as needed, that will not run out and that they have engaging projects that learners of any cultural background can enjoy!
