My Project

My students are from an economically disadvantaged district. Even with the struggles, they have at home, they attend school on a very regular basis. The majority of my students come from single-parent​ homes. They have very few supplies when they come to school. The students in my classroom receive small group instruction to better accommodate their needs. I teach reading, mathematics and language arts. I also help accommodate assignments for science and social studies. I teach students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade with a variety and diverse list of needs. Every student is special!

They would benefit from headphones to eliminate outside distractions.

My students either have learning disabilities or emotional disabilities or both. There are a lot of distractions in the resource room. Students are always coming and going for one thing or another. Also, because many of them have emotional disabilities, it can be very noisy. Headphones will help provide more silence and peace.

My students absolutely love Slime Lickers (candy)! I have been using them as a reward since the beginning of the school year. They are not cheap! We could greatly benefit from having additional supplies in our classroom.
