This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I'm planning to facilitate 20 workshops on mindfulness as part of the classroom curriculum. Mindfulness is a foreign concept for most of our students, and they don't always engage in activities that are new to them or that they find less interesting.
The purpose of this project is to walk students through the process of mindful eating so they understand the concept of mindfulness while using all their senses.
As the school social worker, I'm planning to use the snacks and candy for students to engage in this practice and give away the anxiety relief stickers as a tool for students to manage stress in the class.
