Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Backpacks are a need throughout the school year. Our school houses many programs, including the "Newcomers" program, for students who are new to the country. Many arrive without any school supplies and I make sure our new students (and any others in need) have backpacks and others school supplies. We have gone through quite a few backpacks this year and hope to make it through the end of the year!

Snacks are a great way to help students engage in our small counseling groups with their peers.

From groups on grief, anxiety, academic skills and more, snacks and candy can help students settle in, discuss hard topics, and encourage participation.
