My Project

Fifth grade is a rigorous year filled with growing, learning and getting my students ready for their next adventure....middle school! However, my students come to school hungry.

It's hard to learn and put forth your best effort when you skipped breakfast.

Additionally, my students have the latest lunch, and it is a long time to wait until their lunch break. I like to provide snacks that my fifth graders can take with them to recess. However, these snacks add up with a large class of hungry 10-year-olds.

Once this basic need is met, my students can thrive. Math, reading, writing and science are much easier with a full belly.
