Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students constantly come to class hungry whether it's at the start of the day or right after lunch because they rather wait to eat at home instead of eating the school food, no matter how much I encourage them to eat. They always ask if I have snacks and I, unfortunately, always don't so it's disheartening to see them in that state. I used to provide snacks but I ran out and I really want to put that smile back on their face again.

I want students to maintain a healthy diet and nutritiously balanced snacks are a great supplement to keep them satiated and focused.

They tend to get vending machine snacks which are always chips and Gatorade. I want them to gravitate away from that and lean towards healthier snacks, which have more vitamins or proteins than what the school vending machines could provide. I would greatly appreciate your support to make this a reality.

I also need pencils for my students because they tend to lose them so I want to keep a well-stocked jar of sharpened pencils and erasers for them to take notes and do their classwork. Lastly, I want to keep my feminine hygiene products stocked. I, surprisingly and gratefully, have a lot of students who are comfortable sharing with me that they need a pad, and I currently provide them my own but having a class stock would be wonderful. Thank you!
