My Students
It is always a joy for me to see the children come enthusiastically in the classroom at the kickoff of a new school year. In first grade everyone is eager to learn how to read! My young scholars have various learning styles and a wide range of learning abilities.
Most of my children speak Spanish with English as second language.
Many of my parents are only Spanish-speaking. First grade is the building block for the rest of their lives. Organization is the key to success!
My Project
My students need snacks, including granola bars, Cheez-it's and goldfish to get us through our day. We offer a fresh vegetable and fruit program every week but we do not have it every day. My students come to school hungry and need a little snack to get their minds off their hunger and back into learning!
Having these snacks will make out classroom happy and full!
I also think this will help keep us on a routine and able to stick to the same schedule every day!
With this donation, I feel like the students will become more active learners and focus on the task at hand rather than thinking when their next meal will be.
