Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These snacks will continue to support the caring, student-centered classroom environment that I strive to create. In my kindergarten classroom, students are learning how to regulate their bodies, emotions, and focus throughout the school day. Having access to snacks helps ensure that students are comfortable, calm, and ready to learn.

Snack time is a routine my students truly appreciate.

It gives them the energy they need to participate in lessons, engage with classmates, and stay focused during learning activities. When students’ basic needs are met, they are better able to enjoy their learning experiences and give their best effort.

All of the snacks for this project have been chosen with my students in mind. I observe them daily and understand how hunger can affect attention, behavior, and confidence—especially for young learners. Providing snacks in the classroom also ensures that every student has equal access, which helps create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

With these snacks available, my students will be able to focus more fully on learning and feel supported throughout the day. A well-nourished student is a better learner, and this project will help my students continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a classroom where they feel cared for and valued.
