Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My young students are eager to learn and full of curiosity about the world around them. For many of my students, this is their first classroom experience and every day in school is a new adventure!

We are a four year old kindergarten class in an urban K-8th grade school.

My students come from low-income families and live in high crime neighborhoods in a big city. They receive free breakfast and lunch at school and their families struggle to afford most school supplies.

My Project

My young scholars are so excited to learn and grow! However, many come into school hungry and are unable to focus as a result. Providing students with healthy and fun options such as Goldfish crackers, Cheez-It crackers, cookies, and Sun Chips will help keep energy levels high in the classroom!

Providing healthy snacks and a clean space for eating for young students is a very important part of my classroom that helps students stay engaged and excited for learning!

It is my wish that I am able to give students all the tools they need to succeed in school. Giving students a small snack each day helps me reach my goal, and helps my students succeed in the classroom.
