Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I stock an emergency supply cabinet out of pocket whenever I can with granola bars, pads, tampons, band-aids, water bottles, etc. I would love support to restock this cabinet as the expenses do add up! Most of our students come from low-income or working-class families, and they may not arrive at school with everything they need. While there is a more formal supply/resources closet available on campus, it's helpful for students to have an option right here in class. When students come into my classroom, they are hungry and tired, and sometimes they can't focus on their work until they get what they need, like a drink of water or a snack.

A little bag of trail mix can really turn the whole afternoon around.
