This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Inquisitive, talented, extraordinaire, and creative; these are just some of the adjectives that describe my music students. My students have been successful this year in so many different ways. I am so proud of my students! My students are currently using the Recorder Karate Program, and other resources to supplement their learning. As a music teacher, I want to provide my students with activities that engage, promote complex problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and creativity!
My students and I are extremely blessed to be surrounded by a community of supportive parents, families, administrators, staff, and friends that embrace the arts!
Your investment will encourage, and motivate my students to develop a deeper understanding and love for music literacy.
My Project
My project involves teaching beginning flute and recorders in our after school program. Some students that play the recorder then transition to the flute.
This after school program provides a few students an opportunity to expand upon their musicianship.
Students are learning about instrument care, tuning the flute, posture, correct hand placement, embouchure, articulation, long tones, reading music, and playing through the notes or intervals. There are two boys in particular patiently waiting for a flute, and are so excited about learning!
Please help to sponsor our young flutists; they will be so appreciative and your contribution will serve as an investment for their future!
