Help me give my students a document camera for up-close visuals when they return to the classroom, and for virtual learning now, to help them see the smallest details when they can't be with me.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Grobman's classroom raised $319

My Students
My school is located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a Title I school in a low-income, urban community. Most students do not have the necessary materials for school which makes school difficult for them. Many of my students are not fortunate to have books and other resources at home. My students are wonderful kids that work hard in school but are faced with many challenges and obstacles both in and out of the classroom. Now with Covid-19 and the added hardships of distance learning and not being in front of their teacher and friends, they are at an even greater disadvantage, being in their homes with very few resources.
Many of my first graders have not been exposed to an educational experience in pre-school or kindergarten.
This means having an abundance of books or other educational materials and manipulatives that many of us take for granted. Because of the lack of supplies and resources, my students are at a tremendous disadvantage. As their teacher, it is my job to create an environment that can foster a love of learning and enhance their academic growth, whether it is in person or virtual.
My Project
A document camera will have a huge impact on my students' learning. I will be able to project work onto my Smartboard or chart paper and have my students come up and annotate what I am projecting. Many of the resources I have are non-editable. Having a document camera will afford me the opportunity to take any PDF and have my students mark it up and make corrections and comments on it. Many of our reading and math curriculum books that are on-line are also uneditable, and my students cannot complete practice problems because they cannot write on the Smartboard.
The document camera will allow my students and me to take any resource I have, project it on the Smartboard or chart paper, and mark it up as we see fit!
What's more exciting, especially with COVID, a document camera will allow me to zoom in on specific things I want my students to focus on, allowing for every student to see the board while practicing social distancing.
