My first grade students are energetic, excited and easy to love. They love to please other people and are so proud of themselves when they succeed at something. There is never a dull moment in our room. Each child adds a bit of personality and uniqueness to our first grade family.
My students come from a high-poverty neighborhood.
A majority of my students face struggles that you cannot begin to imagine. Our school is, often times, the safest place for our students to be. We also have a large English Language Learner population. Despite all of the hardships and challenges my students face, they always come to school ready to learn!
My Project
Starting first grade can be a fun, exciting and even nerve-racking for my new students. I don't want my students to come to school feeling scared or worried because they don't have things like folders or markers. I want them to come to school happy and ready to learn!
School supplies will help my first graders become successful throughout the year.
Folders, dry erase markers, erasers, labels and sheet protectors are things that will be used on a daily basis.
These supplies will help my students achieve academic success and also teach my students how to be responsible for their belongings.
