This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students basic essentials to help them feel safe and clean. When I returned from Winter Break this semester, one of my students told me how she had lost her house in a fire. I cannot imagine. And, it was so hard for her to stop me and even ask me for help.

I have a wall of needs in my classroom that includes travel deodorant, soap, hair bands, tide, etc.

Help me refill this station with more shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and toothbrushes. Sometimes, students are NOT comfortable telling me and they won't. But, because of home situations, they end up spending nights elsewhere or they do not have those basic needs. I want to be able to provide for them even if they cannot speak to me.

In addition, once or twice a day, a kid asks me if I have a charger. Students are always connected now and they have free time when there are subs and sometimes they forget to charge. Help me make sure that my students are charged because I don't know where they are going after school. They need that connection to get them through everything.
