My students are creative, hard-working and need challenge. We don't have any Smart Boards at our school. My students are always excited about using technology and a Smart Board will allow them to experience lessons that are interactive and creative.
My third grade students are bright and enthusiastic.
They meet my challenging project assignments with creativity and persistence. They attend a very small "gifted magnet" in a public school that is in an urban neighborhood that would be considered poor. Their parents have high expectations for their children, but funding in public schools is difficult right now and funding for "gifted" students is at a new low.
My Project
My students produce and edit two videos and perform a musical every year. The Smart Board will be used every day for interactive lessons that go with the new Common Core curriculum but I will also be able to use it to teach the video editing, the art software, the animation software and the musical. It will allow my students to show their finished projects on a large display.
Help our students experience what a Smart Board can bring to the classroom and, because the Smart Board will be on a rolling cart, it will be equipment we can share with the other gifted magnet classrooms so that all the children (and teachers) at the school can experience the advantages.
