My students are bright and enthusiastic and I have high expectations of them. They meet my challenging project assignments with creativity and persistence. They attend a very small "gifted magnet" in a public school that is in an urban neighborhood that would be considered poor. Their parents have high expectations for their children too but funding in public schools is difficult right now and funding for "gifted" students has never been very strong. My students learn to write thematic scripts, edit video, and produce a DVD. We're known for our videos... but we have never had a camcorder to work with freely in our classroom. My students are very talented. They are in third grade.
