This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every day students are involved in small groups whether it be math or literacy based. These small groups are specifically designed to target the necessary skills that students need to be successful. These materials will allow me to organize all of our materials for small group instruction. Organized small groups will run smoother with fewer interruptions! Students will be able to quickly retrieve the materials that they need in order to be successful. The two sets of plastic bins will allow my students to quickly and easily retrieve the materials that they need without disrupting the flow of the groups. The dividers are a great tool for my students to be able to work independently on a task and then share out their ideas and answers once they have had some time to think on their own. They will not have to worry about other students looking at their answers.
Smaller is always better when it comes to small group instruction.
Students learn better when they receive more individualized, focused instruction that focuses on their needs and abilities. Every student learns differently and allowing my students to show off their learning in these small groups will lower anxiety and increase student achievement.
Having all of our materials at our fingertips will help us utilize every minute that we have together in a small group!
