Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, we use a structured point-based reward system to encourage positive behaviors such as kindness, participation, following directions, and perseverance. Students earn points throughout the day and can redeem them for small prizes from our classroom prize box.

This project will provide a variety of small toys and sensory-friendly items to stock our prize box.

These items will serve as tangible reinforcement for students who are working hard to make positive choices.

For preschoolers, immediate and meaningful reinforcement is essential. The prize box helps students:

Stay motivated to meet expectations

Build self-control and responsibility

Practice goal-setting and delayed gratification

Feel proud of their positive choices

The variety of items will also allow me to meet the diverse needs and interests of my students, including those who benefit from sensory tools or additional behavioral supports.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
