Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A white board is a wonderful tool in my class. The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, and how I can help them if they need help in some areas. What becomes a problem is that we don't have erasers to erase the work. We use socks, but sometimes socks leave the marker residue on it and won't completely erase the marker off the board. Leaving the board to become stained and in need to be replaced. If we had white board erasers to completely erase the boards that would be great! In Science we also use magnifying glasses for our investigations. These are a great tool for the students to be fully engaged in their learning as they investigate their surroundings. We have a few left because some have broken and in Science, every child needs a magnifying glass to do their own observation. I feel that this motivates and enhances their learning more than just reading and learning form a book.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase my students' attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
My students would be able to focus on the math problems by finding the solution to the problem instead of trying to find the solution to the white board problem . They would also be fully engaged in any science investigation.
