Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to Room 107! We are located in an inner city neighborhood school, meaning all of the children walk to and from school each day. This has created strong relationships between parents and teachers because we get to interact with each other every day.
We are a classroom that is built more like a family.
In our room, we work hard to build strong relationships between students, teachers, and families. We are all dedicated to learning, loving, and laughing with each other. Our classroom is completely filled with joy and laughter.
However, our school is also located in a poverty-stricken area in which resources are often difficult to access. Due to the lack of resources, the education of these children may suffer. It is my goal to provide these children with the resources they need to grow and succeed.
My Project
Our students need a small group table for focused learning with a teacher. We have two teachers in our classroom, so we need two tables for each teacher to take small groups and really focus in on certain topics.
A small group table can provide students with a focused learning space and more personalized attention from a teacher.
It is very easy for children to get lost in lessons when they are sitting in a whole-group setting. When they sit in small groups with a teacher, their learning is more focused and personalized.
These tables are also helpful to teachers because it helps us really see how the children are working. We can see what mistakes they are making, what misconceptions they have, and then we can alter our instruction to meet the needs of these children. These tables are very valuable in the learning process!
