My Students

My students are refugees from all over the world! Many of them speak multiple languages and have learned English after coming to our school. They come from very low income families and would appreciate being able to do more hands on projects in school because they do not have many unique learning opportunities very often. I would love to be able to provide more of these opportunities for them!

My Project

Small group instruction is imperative in my classroom as my students are refugees from all over the world, and due to this, some of them have gaps in their learning which need to be addressed in small group setting. Covid unfortunately only added to the needs for these small groups because students lost even more learning time over the past 2 years than ever before. Unfortunately, my classroom does not have the space or furniture needed in order to do this, so our small group time together is impacted by these factors. It would be incredible to have stools that allow for my class to gather around the one table we have to do small group activities and tutoring together without all being squished in chairs or uncomfortable kneeling on the floor.
