Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager third graders. The majority of my students are bilingual and English is a second language for them. Spanish is spoken at home and is their dominant language. My students come from low-income families and many times do not bring supplies to the classroom.

They LOVE learning Math with games.

I find that they thrive most when they are exposed to centers, manipulatives, and by playing games with me at the banana table. I wish to provide my students with MORE of these things to help them be successful in the classroom.

My Project

I chose a set of small group learning centers. The set comes with learning stations/centers for each math category. They include manipulatives, games, and fun instructional activities for the students to play with while they learn at the same time.

I plan to use the Math Instant Learning Center during small group instruction so that students can make connections to abstract concepts in a concrete manner.

I also plan to use them during after school tutorials to help my students close gaps in math skills.

I know that by using these centers;my students will be fully engaged and will LOVE to learn Math even more!
