I have been teaching for six years in Title I schools. This is my 5th year in middle school and I am absolutely in love with this age group of kids. With each new group of students, I am inspired by their eagerness and readiness to learn. My students are respectful, caring, and smart individuals. They work together as a family and show true concern for each other. A majority of my students do not have a constant support system at home and are English Language Learners. They work through adversity to accomplish greatness.
I am so proud of my students.
When my students are excited to learn, I am excited to teach. I am inspired by them. I want all of my students to believe in themselves and become lifelong learners and lovers of education.
I want to transform my classroom to be a place that is 100% student focused with flexible seating where ALL students can thrive. To begin my transformation, I want to remove my teacher desk from my classroom and replace it with a teacher table. The table will serve as a place where I can do small group instruction, reteaching, or group work. I want to utilize all my space in my room to better serve my students and help them feel successful and confident. I truly believe replacing my desk with a table that serves the entire class will create a better atmosphere for the students.
I will use the requested kidney activity table and Marius stackable stools as my teacher table and seating for my students.
My students will come to the table to receive content intervention, small group instruction, or one-on-one assistance. This table and stools will give my students and me an opportunity to successfully collaborate to help further their knowledge.
