My Project
My students have huge hearts with lots of big emotions. Unfortunately, they have trouble navigating through all those big emotions. Some students have severe disabilities that contribute to the lack of being able to regulate, while others have suffered trauma in their lives. I aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment for small group instruction to teach those social-emotional skills necessary for success. My project includes games, sensory tools, and alternative seating options for the classroom. The activities will provide clear instructions to ensure my students understand the skills and objectives being taught. By developing their social and emotional skills, my students will be able to overcome academic and social challenges.
