I have a class of energetic, enthusiastic, and amazing students! Our school is a Title I school where most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes or may live in a motel. All of the students receive free lunch. Most are English Language Learners, while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces, regardless of their circumstances!
Literacy skills are fundamental to academic success and lifelong learning.
The Hand2mind Science of Reading toolkits and materials were chosen to improve literacy instruction in my kindergarten classroom. These toolkits will equip us with evidence-based resources and materials aligned with the Science of Reading approach, fostering the development of foundational literacy skills among young learners. These toolkits and manipulatives will help me implement evidence-based literacy practices grounded in the Science of Reading approach. This approach emphasizes systematic, explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, aligning with current research on how children learn to read. I know these tools will greatly benefit my students with their reading achievement. Thank you so much for your support!
