My Project

My advanced child development classes are eager to partner up and create a series of foods lab lesson plans tailored for special needs students in our school. The focus will be on easy and beginner baking labs to introduce these students to the joys of cooking and build their confidence in the kitchen.

To make this project a success, we need your support to provide small kitchen appliances that will enable our high school students to teach easy, healthy cooking labs to the life skills students in our school.

We are seeking to acquire toasters, an immersion blender, spiralizer, and other small kitchen appliances to make cooking more accessible and less intimidating for our life skills students. The high school students will team teach a recipe to the life skills students, demonstrating each step and assisting them along the way. This hands-on approach will ensure that every student, regardless of ability, can actively participate and learn. This project not only benefits the life skills students but also has a profound impact on my advanced students. It provides them with valuable teaching experience and helps build their confidence as they prepare for future careers in education, child care, healthcare, and more.

My advanced child development classes are filled with students who are passionate about helping others and eager to make a difference in their community. By supporting this project, you are not only helping to empower life skills students, but also nurturing the next generation of compassionate and skilled caregivers and educators while allowing all students the chance to cook.
