Having the Empathy Belly- Pregnancy Simulator, will allow me to give my students a glimpse of what being pregnant feels like and how it impacts all areas of daily life. Students will instantly experience a 30 pound weight gain, fetal like kicks, altered self image, and shortness of breath as they walk in the footsteps of a 9 month pregnant woman. I am sure that students will be rushing home to hug their mothers when their simulation is over. Each student will have the chance to wear the pregnancy suit during class. They will experience some interesting looks as they walk a huge lap around the school huffing and puffing as they go. The great part is that they will build up empathy for pregnant women and understand the body changes that occur during pregnancy.
