This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are located in an urban area of New Jersey, which has been described by the media as "the poorest city in the U.S." and "the most dangerous city in America." A full 96% of our students are classified as "economically disadvantaged"; 16% have special needs.

I am a self-contained special education teacher and this year I am teaching a wonderful group of 5th through 7th-grade student

I am a strong believer that when children are excited about school the result is always a POSITIVE outcome. These Slime kits will add excitement to our growing science center, as well as foster a love of science. These items will allow my students to read directions, follow instructions and team build with partners.

Science is so very important in life, and I will do anything to make sure my students are prepared for life.
