Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Having a carpet in my classroom that shows all of the United States would be a great tool for me to use when teaching Social Studies. My students will be able to go to the carpet and point to various states.

This will also help them to learn about and identify the shapes/locations of the states when given a blank map to fill in.

The colors on the carpet are very inviting. This will definitely keep their attention. Furthermore, just having something new and clean to sit on will also help to keep their attention.
