Ms. Stone's new "Pebbles" really ROCK!! I had the opportunity to meet these creative and imaginative students during our Step Up Day celebration in the Spring, and I am very excited to see them once again at the end of August! My new students are very diverse, each offering something very special to our classroom and school community!
Third grade is an amazing year for students as they become strong, independent learners and thinkers!
Third graders excel when they are provided with a strong stable structure and a caring learning environment. I look forward to watching each of them grow and succeed!
My Project
Third graders are often full of energy. When students are not comfortable in their classroom, it makes it ev en harder to focus during the already long school day. Giving students options of standing, sitting, or even laying down allows students the ability to get comfortable and be ready to learn.
Research shows that movement and learning use the same parts of the brain; thus with flexible seating they are more apt to learn.
Flexible seating will help my students stay focused and it also allows them to get their wiggles out. Third graders are busybodies who need to let out energy while learning. With the use of exercise balls, stools, and rockers my students will have the option to move as much as they like while staying engaged and focused on their work.
