Third graders are often full of energy. When students are not comfortable in their classroom, it makes it ev en harder to focus during the already long school day. Giving students options of standing, sitting, or even laying down allows students the ability to get comfortable and be ready to learn. Research shows that movement and learning use the same parts of the brain; thus with flexible seating they are more apt to learn. Flexible seating will help my students stay focused and it also allows them to get their wiggles out. Third graders are busybodies who need to let out energy while learning. With the use of exercise balls, stools, and rockers my students will have the option to move as much as they like while staying engaged and focused on their work.
