My students need place for everyone to sit in learn on a comfortable rug or being able to sit around the teacher at a table.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
As a teacher in a title one school, over 70% on free and reduced lunch, my third-grade students are faced with challenges in the classroom setting. My goal for my students is to make my classroom a fun, learning environment where they can succeed at their own potential no matter what their challenges are.
My third grades students are curious motivators who want to learn.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take chances in order to grow both personally and academically. They are my inspiration!
Being able to sit on a carpet or sit around the table and see the teacher helps students become more engaged in the learning process. During shared reading or in reading groups having a space where a child can sit and see the teacher and engage with their classmates can help a child learn and grow. Making sure that students are comfortable is essential in motivating them to learn. I have noticed an amazing difference in their learning and behavior when they are able to participate in a lesson and they can see what the teacher is doing and what other students are sharing.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive when they can see and hear wheat others are doing and sharing in a comfortable space.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them seating that is comfortable and that they will be able to see. The carpet will be a great area for students to sit and share during shared reading lessons and it will provide additional seating when they are completing center activities. The curved table will help students see each other and the teacher during guided reading lessons and Science experiments.
I have seen how being able to see can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that it will help us grow even more!
