My students need more flexible seating to accommodate their individual learning needs. My classroom seating currently consists of some broken chairs, some that are too small and uncomfortable.

My Students

I work with students who come from various economic backgrounds, but most struggle with poverty every day. They are bright kids who deserve every opportunity to change their lives and improve their quality of life. I want to ensure that they have all of the resources I can provide them with for success in school and life.

Providing them with flexible seating will allow for them to have a more comfortable environment, something a lot of my students lack at home.

I want to ensure that I can meet their educational and personal needs at school in an environment that is focused on them.

My Project

Supplying my students with flexible seating will allow them to bounce, lean and move while learning. By providing them with balance and ball seats, they can move while learning. It is proven that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior.

Movement allows for their minds to be more alert and focused while burning calories and being active.

Flexible seating will give my students a choice of how they sit and with whom they sit. Allowing them to have some control over their own learning environment and giving them the option to change their perspective as needed.
