"Educating students from around the world and across the street." The students in my classroom range from three to five years old. Many of them are English Language Learners coming to school each day excited and ready to learn.
My students remind me everyday of why I became a teacher, they continue to impress me with their energy and love of learning.
Their eagerness and willingness to try new things is a testament to their resilience.
I am so lucky to be their teacher. They teach me more each day than I could have ever imagined.
My Project
This is a library space shared by three preschool classrooms daily, in which students read independently, listen to stories by our librarian, and choose books to take home to read with their families. The new carpet will create a space for shared reading, read aloud, and other large group literacy activities. The take away mats will let students find an independent space to read and engage in books in the library.
Our library area will provide foundational skills for elementary school and expose them to an educational environment outside of the classroom.
Many of our students do not have the opportunity to visit our local library so we would like to bring the library experience to them in a way they can learn, grow and feel empowered.
These materials in will begin to create a space for our students to feel comfortable and secure while also engaging in developmentally appropriate literacy activities.
