My students have made great use of the supplies gained through your donation. It is truly remarkable how having the resources available for them can have a direct impact on their learning and achievement. \r\nMy students come from very low economic backgrounds so being able to provide for them, even in some of the most basic ways, can have a lasting impact. While it may not seem like much, even just having pencils can be a game changer. \r\nAgain, I am truly grateful for your time and generosity. One special moment was when we used a new book about managing big emotions, and students opened up about times they felt overwhelmed—something they hadn't felt comfortable sharing before. When the materials first arrived, the class was thrilled; many students ran their hands across the rug and immediately sat down together, saying it felt like \"our special spot.\" Donors got a small peek into our classroom by helping bring this project to life, and the next steps for my students include continuing a unit on understanding emotions, practicing how to name their feelings, communicate with peers, and build healthy relationships. These resources have made it possible for us to create a safe, calm, emotionally supportive space—something that is just as important as academic learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763321744220,"projectUrl":"project/ms-capistrans-3rd-grade/9854357/","projectTitle":"Ms. Capistran’s 3rd Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Capistran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9065310_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755867622269","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9065310"},{"teacherId":9065310,"projectId":9629501,"letterContent":"The new texts help my students build important reading skills such as identifying main ideas, making inferences, and understanding character motivations. They also support vocabulary development and allow students to practice reading with expression and fluency. Many of the books introduce themes like friendship, problem-solving, and perseverance, which spark meaningful classroom conversations.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is a mix of independent reading time, partner discussions, and small-group instruction. Students find cozy spots around the room—now including our new rug—to read comfortably and stay focused. We talk about what we read, ask questions, and share favorite parts. The environment feels calm, engaged, and joyful, with students excited to dive into their books each day.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously hesitant readers have become much more excited about reading. One student in particular has been eagerly choosing books from the new collection every morning and proudly sharing their summaries with classmates. Another student who struggled with confidence has found a series they love and is now reading beyond the required time. These books have helped many students feel more connected, motivated, and successful as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1761076934505,"projectUrl":"project/ms-capistrans-3rd-grade-class/9629501/","projectTitle":"Ms. Capistran’s 3rd Grade Class!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Capistran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9065310_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755867622269","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9065310"},{"teacherId":497182,"projectId":9664896,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to our team project! This color printer has already been super helpful. We currently used it to to print Halloween bingo and other fun activities. I also used it to make colored copies of multiplication charts for my students that we then laminated so that they stay clean durable. \r\nThe other third grade teachers and I share this printer as we do not have any color printers in our school that we are able to use. We had one last year and then the school had no funds to get more ink. This printer will be able to print so much with the ink we got. \r\nWe are also thankful that we do not have to use our home printers. We often do work over the weekend and at night to print things in color that we need for our classes. This cuts down on the time we spend at home doing work. My students use their chromebooks everyday for iReady Reading and Math. The headphones are comfortable and sturdy. They love that they are wireless and are now asking for mouse pads! \r\nMy students are also loving the seating options. I have one student who has hip problems but likes to be able to sit at the carpet with the class during lessons, so the seats with the back are very helpful for her. The seats with the cushions and the little desk part are also super helpful for students if they can not see the screen when they are at their desks writing. They are able to come to the carpet and have a place to write.
