Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are highly motivated, highly diverse, and highly dedicated to music and school. They love exploring sound and songs through our classes. They respect their equipment and love using the instruments and tools to further their learning.

My students work together in harmony to create harmony.

They explore our culture by singing and dancing to folk songs. They learn history through exploring the composers and their famous musical works. They learn about sound and instrumental technique by playing recorders, xylophones, drums, and ukuleles.

My Project

My choir students are dedicated to learning music and performing well, but they are also still learning organizational skills. Throughout the year, they receive lyric sheets and octavos (expensive copies of the music in booklet form.) Unfortunately, without the right tools, this sheet music can get lost or torn, and it is expensive to replace!

By having a dedicated, permament choir folder, these students can learn organizational skills and take pride in their choir membership at the same time.

The folders will keep their music safe, will bring a sense of pride to the group, and will make our practices and performances look uniform.
