Because of your generosity my students now have a place to calm down and reset when they need one. \r\n\r\nMy classroom is now a little more calming and less harsh. The environment is one that students want to be in and are better able to learn in. The florescent light filters make the classroom easier to manage for them with less harsh lighting. The chair feet make their chairs able to balance back and forth and they are safer because they don't rock backwards. \r\n\r\nOur sensory room used to have harsh lighting and a hard floor. It now has a mat that students can fall or lay on and liquid sensory tiles to squish and allow them to calm down. It is a calming environment that allows them to reset so they can learn. \r\n\r\nI'm very proud of how I was able to transform my classroom and our sensory room with all your help. These things seem so small, but the environment of a classroom is made up of so many factors. These kids meet once a week after school to learn how to crochet. I was also able to supply them with some yarn. The advance group each got to choose a kit to make an animal or cactus. Those kits come with directions, yarn, and anything else they need for it. The kit also comes with a link to a video lesson if they need help. \r\nSeveral of the students have told me they plan to start a business with their granny or a friend who also crochets. Your gift may really be life changing for these students. The other items will allow the students to wiggle a little and squish items to help with the testing anxiety.
