Singing for Change: Professional Quality Choir Microphones

My Students

I have two separate concert choirs filled with energetic high school students who are either learning to sing in a formal choral ensemble for the very first time, or have limited training. They are creatively curious, consistently eager to learn, and routinely go above and beyond the demands of my classroom. Many of them volunteer to meet during their lunch time on Wednesdays and Fridays, so that we can squeeze in additional rehearsal time - an admirable trait for many of these first-time choral singers!

Our concert choirs would benefit greatly from having professional quality choir microphones to use in live performance situations.

Having at least a pair of stereo microphones would enable us to mic the choir for better amplification in our upcoming concerts, both on and off-campus throughout this year, and in the years to come.

My Project

In our concert choir classes, students rehearse with piano accompaniment or sing acappella. They are very much used to hearing the sound of their own voices in a smaller rehearsal space. However, when we perform, whether it be at an outdoor event, in a church concert, or in a festival at a theater, it will be critical for us to have proper amplification. With the aid of professional quality live/recording choir mics, audiences will be able to hear the true sound of our choir, and our students will also have the opportunity to make proper reference recordings for future use.
