Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I like using therapy toys and games to start and end the day. Using sensory toys helps my students calm down and find their center. They learn how to self-soothe with these simple tools like fidget tubes and building tiles. I know that my students can work independently in these centers. I won't have to stress about a major cleanup at the end of their activity because a lot of these items can be easily accessed and stored in their centers.

These sensory games teach students how to take turns.

They learn how to set up and clean up. They develop fine motor skills in order to push and pull parts in and out of the base. All of these activities are especially helpful for my special needs students. They need lessons presented to them differently. Breaking down information into playful songs and activities really helps drive home the lessons into meaningful and easier-to-process chunks.
