This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my classroom are 7th-grade students who receive special education services. They have intellectual, sensory, and emotional impairments that are aided by inclusion in a small classroom setting. My students struggle with mathematics concepts, and this year our goals are to build confidence in our foundational math skills and to become more engaged with our learning.
My students work together as a community based on their learning styles and interests.
They work very hard, and a big issue for them is the retention of topics. I am always looking for new and interesting ways to help them to thrive and remember different topics. We are a part of a large school that celebrates inquisitive learning. All of my students are working hard towards high school and college by relating all of their topics to real-world situations.
My Project
My seventh graders are some of the most driven students I have ever encountered. My students sometimes struggle with the touchpads on the computers and a lot of the touchpads are even broken, which requires mice. My students use their computers for a multitude of different activities and the limited technology is not allowing them to live up to their full potential. Having mice will make all lives easier!

This simple tool expands the device’s capabilities, allowing teaching to extend beyond traditional instructional methods, which in turn helps to reach more students’ personalized needs. Mice will increase the speed of my students completing tasks. But because of a lack of mice, my students are unable to reach their full potential. These new mice will allow my amazing and driven students to use their technology the way it was intended and also allow them to really learn to their fullest potential!
