Simple Calorimeters

Help me give my students the ability to quantify energy in chemical reactions.

My Project

I am requesting the ring stands to be able to allow my students to perform tests on different chemical reactions to assess the amount of energy released in a given reaction. The ring stands will allow us to make simple calorimeters using other materials we have in the classroom. All we really need is a working surface and a way to suspend the water and thermometer.

This project will give my students the ability to quantify the energy released in a chemical reaction.

My students respond to hands-on activities. I am also requesting a chemistry lab and student lab manual so I can modify chemistry labs to my students' level. I am so excited to share my love of science with my students in a way that they truly respond to.
