My Students
Students at my school site are creative and bursting to show their individuality. I often get to see their individuality and unique thinking with a variety of topics and projects.
My students are beginning to find their voice and look at the world much differently then they did just a year earlier.
They are connecting dots that now start to make a longer story within the context of history and especially current events. These connections are often observed from me within the classroom. Watching the students open their worldview lens has been extremely rewarding.
My Project
When I'm in the car driving to work I often listen to different podcast shows. A podcast is created when an amateur talk show host creates and shares information about a topic. I find this form of communication stimulating and extremely rewarding as a listener.
The goal is to have students creating podcast shows in which they are sharing their ideas about current and historical events.
These podcast shows are a way to demonstrate knowledge of content plus gives students an opportunity to literally have a voice.
This form of communication in the classroom creates a positive synergy that allows the "shy" students a low-stress way to be heard without having to speak in front of the class.
