Mrs. Scott from Durham NC is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a Lakeshore Listening Station, which includes a sturdy hardwood center features 8 kid-sized headphones and an 8-station junction box with volume controls…with plenty of room inside to store and organize over 35 cassettes or over 40 CDs.

My students will be independent learners while listening to a story in the listening station. I am a Kindergarten Teacher in a low-income Title One school. My classroom is an inclusion class including students who are developmentally delayed and ESL (English Language Learners) students.
Due to budget cuts at our school, I am not able to replace broken headphones in our listening station. Currently, I do not have a stand to put my headphones on when students are not using during center time. My student's will love the listening station as they listen to wonderful stories which will also increase their ability to write. My student's are constantly saying "I can't hear the story." Last year my principal brought me a new listening station CD player and now my students can not hear stories.
I need a listening station with headphones, junction box and stand for the headphones. This will provide students the opportunity to increase their fluency skills as they listen to great stories.
Your generous donation will help my students enjoy listening to great stories and also increase their self-esteem as they began to learn new sight words. You will make positive successful reader for our future leaders.
