My Project

Each year, I have between 26-32 first graders, and I love spending time with them as they grow. Classroom routines are an essential part of our day, where students can take ownership for their classroom space and their materials. Each day, students collect their papers from their mailbox and put them in their backpack to take home and share with their families.

The classroom mailbox is an important fixture in our classroom space, where students' materials are organized, easily accessible, and support student independence.

My current mailbox system is older and has slots that make the different cubbies fall apart. This has made it both not reliable, as well as disruptive to our daily schedule and routine. This new mailbox will support the needs of my students, as well as fit the differing sizes of my class list each year!
