I currently work in a school located in a large district in a large urban area. As is true for everyone in education funding is tight. My students are not in a Title I situation, they live in a working class community with hard working parents. Most families are two income and provide for their children. Oddly enough, because of that, our school receives minimal funding. We do not have a computer lab, we do not have any technology to speak of. We have just received a classroom computer. I want to show them the possibilities of technology. I want them to use the program and applications I observed and use to help them improve their skills, support their learning and all the while be motivated by the technology. I want them to know what is possible and give them all the opportunities I have at my disposal. Some of my children struggle in their learning. I tutor before and after school and offer what is available. I believe this is a valuable tool to offer my students.
