My Project
I am a preschool teacher at a PreK to grade 7 public school. Although I love teaching preschool, I have had the immense pleasure to be apart of a girls' mentoring group at my school. This group has been in existence for the past 9 years. This year I am excited to be Lead Facilitator.
The purpose of this afterschool club for the 6th and 7th graders is to promote and cultivate unity and sisterhood among young girls.
We tackle topics centered on communication styles, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution as well as body image/personal hygiene. The girls look forward to discussions, team building activities and trips that help them strengthen their bond. Last year, the girls were quite excited about getting "team jerseys" to wear on the days when the group meets. This year, the new attendees are just as excited and often ask me when will they be able to get their t-shirts. Please help us provide the new attendees with their own "team jerseys" to wear on meeting days.
